Business Communication Team Project - Team Lead:
We were required to address a social issue in which we chose a company to work for in addition to a non-profit organization we planned to work with. As employees of Toys R’Us, we chose to collaborate with New Friends New Life in addition to Six Flags Over Texas. For our charitable event, we planned to organize a 5K Run on Six Flags grounds. With the purchase of each 5K runner’s package, participants would receive a discounted park ticket. As the team lead, I distributed tasks to each of our group members to obtain as much accurate information as possible. My main goal was to keep the team motivated and on track throughout the project. The skills needed in being successful in our pursuits such as persuasion, creativity, and organization are all skills necessary to excel within businesses. Our group presentation was chosen as Best in Class because of the issue addressed, the magnitude of the event, our presentation skills, and the pertinent details of the event that were provided and clearly illustrated. |

Maintaining positive healthy habits are essential to your long-term success regardless of your personal goals. Especially as students, we need to ensure we are taking in the correct amount of nutrients to keep our mental focus strong and allow us to overcome those terrible all-nighters! Below is one of my favorite go-to websites that provides an ample amount of information that covers just about anything you can think of!
Nutrition & Diet TipsGrowing up I was very active in sports and ran cross country and track. I have a deep love for basketball and have recently picked up on tennis. I am still quite a beginner, but I am quickly learning and enjoy the game very much! When I am not studying I enjoy keeping up with my favorite professional teams and attending their homes games when possible. To maintain up-to-date on all my favorite teams, I rely on my favorite sports website ESPN.
Follow My Favorite TeamsAs a huge animal lover, my obsession with my puppy should come as no surprise. My one and only Izzy, is part Chihuahua and part Dachshund also known as a "Chiweenie." She is a 3 year old mix filled with a complete personality of her own not to mention a fetch-obsessed pup! As a proud Chiweenie mom, I am part of a Chiweenie community on social media. Surprisingly, it is more than just a gallery of our fur babies, but a family of fellow animal lovers where we frequently seek advice and rely on each other for support.
